# Volunteer hours log and certificate

Keep a running record of the time you give: the date, where, what you did and for how long. See your totals for any organisation or period, and print a certificate of hours ready for the organisation to check and sign.

## How to keep your log

Add an entry after each session: the date, the hours (or the start and finish times, which fill in the hours for you, including shifts that run past midnight), the organisation and what you did. The organisation box suggests names you have used before, so totals stay together. Use Edit to correct an entry. Totals update for any organisation and period, which helps when a school, scheme or employer asks for hours in a set window.

## Keeping a copy

Your log lives only in this browser, so export a CSV now and then and keep it somewhere safe. The same file imports back here, into another browser or into a spreadsheet. Imports skip entries that are already in the log, and tell you about any line they could not read.

## About the certificate

The certificate is a tidy record for you to fill in. It only means something once a person at the organisation has checked your hours and signed it, so there is no signature, logo or official wording added by this site.

## More tools for running things together

Each tool has its own page, and all of them keep working offline once the page has loaded.

- [Volunteer shift rota](https://togetherbrook.sbs/volunteer-shift-rota/): Plan shifts and roles, fill in names, spot gaps and double bookings, then print.
- [Fundraising thermometer](https://togetherbrook.sbs/fundraising-thermometer/): A goal thermometer for your appeal, in your currency, to download or print.
- [Sign-up sheet maker](https://togetherbrook.sbs/sign-up-sheet-maker/): Printable sign-up sheets with time slots or tasks, your own columns, on Letter or A4.

### Check a donation page before you give

A link to an appeal on a site you do not know? Look the domain up with WebTraceCheck's free DNS and domain lookup, or open the link in its disposable cloud browser, which is deleted after each session.

## Questions

**Who can see my hours?**

Only you, on this device. The log is stored in your browser's local storage and never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data deletes it, so export a CSV backup.

**How do I count travel time or training?**

Follow the rules of whoever is asking for your hours. Many programmes count training but not travel; log them as separate entries with a clear note so you can include or leave them out.

**Can I log part hours?**

Yes. Type 1.5 or 0.75, or enter start and finish times and the hours are worked out to the minute.
